Description

Established in 2016 at Brookhaven National Laboratory, the Computational Science Initiative (CSI), has secured its position among leading computer science research organizations while maintaining its “start-up” atmosphere of innovation and flexibility in shaping its direction. Continuously growing throughout its past seven years, CSI works with a broad set of sponsors on a range of exciting computer science, applied math, and computational science topics.

Responsible AI for use in consequential decision-making applications, next-generation digital twins, and award-winning extreme-scale workflow infrastructures are only a sampling of our research focus areas inspired by the world-leading experimental facilities found only at Brookhaven Lab. Now, we are seeking a deputy director who shares our commitment to excellence in science, innovation, and teamwork in multidisciplinary settings and is excited to help shape our future. You should be a leader engaged in your own research and demonstrate a proven track record of helping others fulfill their research ambitions.

Management experience has enabled you to easily build new relationships and networks of colleagues, collaborators, and sponsors by communicating your visions convincingly to a range of audiences. At CSI, you will find a welcoming, diverse, and inclusive team that is looking forward to hearing your ideas for its future and will support making them a reality.

Note: This is an on-site position eligible for consideration of flexible work arrangement, including part-time work option at the discretion of the Director
