DCS was founded in 1977 upon core knowledge of aviation systems and acquisition management, and a commitment to the well-being of the nation. Today, we are a leading technology services company that overcomes technical challenges for the Department of Defense and other federal agencies charged with ensuring the security of the United States.
Specializing in military combat systems technologies, we provide a comprehensive and effective blend of core engineering and management disciplines to solve the unique and complex challenges associated with sensors, platform electronics, weapons, C4ISR and knowledge systems.
Today, DCS Corporation employs a diverse team of more than 800 highly-qualified engineers and technical professionals. Headquartered in Alexandria VA, DCS maintains offices in ten locations across the United States generating revenues in excess of $165 million.
We are constantly improving our solutions through a corporate-wide Quality Management Program that has been recently registered to the ISO 9001:2000 standard.
Our dedication to protecting national security is demonstrated by our receipt of multiple DSS Cogswell Awards - a prestigious award recognizing our dedication to the safeguarding of National secrets won by fewer than 2% of all government contractors.
Our customers include the Naval Air Systems Command, Naval Air Warfare Center, Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command, Naval Research Laboratory, U.S. Army Communications-Electronics Command, U.S. Army Tank-Automotive and Armaments Command and Missile Defense Agency.
Company History
DCS was founded in 1977 when three men who deeply cared about the well-being of America were driven to start a company to help serve their country.
With the U.S. military downsizing after the Vietnam War and government funding increasing for research and development, founders David Shumaker, Carl Dubac and Sidney Cox recognized the need to deliver top-notch technical products and services for industry and government clients.
Taking the first letters of their first and last names, the founders created the name DCS. Over the past 30 years, DCS has grown from just seven people to more than 800 engineers and technical specialists providing systems development and consulting services nationwide.
Today, 80% of our staff are engineers and scientists, and 30% hold an advanced degree. DCS Corporation thrives because of the dedication of our employees and our commitment to provide a stimulating professional environment to maximize innovation and superior work for our nation.
